Yo everyone, I'm back with another Sweep-A-Thon update. This time I've made considerable progress in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13! Well I guess 'considerable' is a bit of an exaggeration. I actually finished this one quest that took me literally months to finish.
Without trying to spoil too much, I was at Yusnaan trying to rescue Snow from himself or whatever his problem was (it's been a while since I've played). It all sounds simple enough until we get to the real issue here. See, to actually enter his palace/castle type thing, I was asked to collect a bunch of fireworks. Now I usually dislike fetch quests but I could take the opportunity to partake in a number of side quests along the way. This would normally be a walk in the park except for the fact that I couldn't find any. Not a single one of those goddamn sparkly things. I would say part of the reason for this is that most of the areas in the game are somewhat new to me, having only started the game recently, so I got lost quite often.
I can't tell you how soul-crushing it is to continuously start up the game, wander for an hour, and then shut off the system in disappointment. The worst part of it all is that your guide throughout the game, Hope, will not stop asking you to find the fireworks. It's the only thing you hear, every two minutes:
*beep beep*
Hope: You don't have enough fireworks Lightning. Try looking for them around the city.
And after 60-70 times it starts to sound like this:
*BEEP BEEP*
Hope: HEY
Hope: HEY YA BASTARD
Hope: GOT THEM FIREWORKS YET?
Hope: NAWH
Hope: DIDN'T THINK SO
This might have been one of the darker moments in my gaming career, I won't lie. Finally I looked up a walkthrough video and literally set it side-by-side by my television and followed the directions. In the end, I got those suckers.
